Dear reader,
The first topic of this brand new Jouanjan & partners' blog is likely to divide opinions strongly.
Comparing tax rates around the world hardly makes any sense as residents of one country might believe, after discussing their personal tax position with their neighbours, that they simply don't live in the same country.
A non-domiciled UK resident will probably look down on any other tax position in the world, whilst his or her neighbour, UK domiciled, would envy that friend who went to live under the French sunshine and was able to sell an unlimited quantity of pieces of real estate without paying ANY tax or contribution or surcharge or any of the like after properly holding the properties for 5 years.
Our opinion at Jouanjan & partners is that France can be a tax haven.
What do YOU think?
Thank you,
Arnaud Jouanjan

France can become a tax haven but the bureaucracy would drive anyone using it as this round the bend. It seems odd giving the English this proposed preferntial treatment but in the french countryside (poor areas) they NEED the English - why else is there such expansion of the supermarkets, expansion of the villages, jobs, and schools remaining open ? The English spend there pensions in France, and the majority are honest and use French workmen - they do extremely well - the question I put back to you is why are the French artisans so dishonest and want so many cash payments 'sous le table' from the English ???!!!
