Lawyer, Barrister or Solicitor ?

The french legal system does not make any difference between solicitors and barristers. In the french legal system, the so called AVOCATS are both barristers and solicitors, and they can plea in front of lower and high Courts, including Courts of appeal. The sole exception is the supreme Court, called " Cour de Cassation", with specialized lawyers called " avocats aux conseils", there are all in Paris.
